 Mission:   

 

St. Petronille’s Council of Catholic Women provides opportunities to gather in the Catholic Spirit of fellowship, service, and spiritual enrichment. With this vision in mind, CCW aims to raise funds for both parish and community needs.    The Women of CCW sponsor activities and events that provide parish fellowship, community fellowship, spiritual enrichment and fundraising.  These committees are in need of volunteers to make the events a success. We encourage you to join us at a monthly member meeting and to get involved in whatever way your gifts lead you! We would love for you to get involved and Catch the Spirit of CCW!

To learn more about the various CCW activities and events please read the descriptions below.  

           These committees are in need of volunteers to make the events a success.  We encourage you to join us at a monthly member meeting and to get involved in whatever way your gifts lead you!  Monthly meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (September-May).  We’d like to get to know you! Share your time and talent with CCW. If you’re interested in volunteering and attending a CCW event(s), please contact one of the Co-Vice Presidents. The CCW Board is responsible for planning and organizing these events, and board membership changes every year in the summer, so if you are interested in becoming more involved at the board level, please contact one of our Co-Presidents.  We’d love for you to get involved and Catch the Spirit of CCW!

 St. Petronille Council of Catholic Women (CCW) Events and Activities:

  • Adopt-a-family: Wide-range of opportunities available in the largest drive of its kind in DuPage County
  • Blood Drives: Welcome donors during the drive and ensure they are well enough to go home
  • Food Pantry Delivery: Deliver collected goods from coat closet to Grace Lutheran Church
  • Homebound Visits: Quarterly visits including delivery of simple, child-made projects to homebound in Parish
  • Thanksgiving Baskets: Supplement the Food Pantry Thanksgiving Baskets wit additional grocery gift cards.

Fundraising:

  • Luminary Sale: Volunteers are needed to help promote, sell and distribute luminary kits

  • Flower Sale: Annual fundraiser - Usher in spring by sorting flowers!

  • Men's Trivia Night: A night out for our husbands and the men in the Parish to test their knowledge of sports.

Parish Fellowship:

  • Donut Sunday: All are welcome! Pour juice or shop for milk to support this Parish fellowship tradition.

  • Easter Egg Hunt: Provide a fun morning for children in the Parish as they hunt for eggs on the Parish lawn.

  • Family Fun Night: A night of family fun, pizza, children's entertainment and adult conversation.

  • General Meetings: Thanks to all who volunteer to provide refreshments to our monthly meetings.

  • High School Scholarship: Review essays to choose the winner of the $1,000 scholarship.

  • Post Mass Receptions: Provide and serve light refreshments after All Souls Mass and/or St. Patrick's Day Mass

  • Woman of the Year: Honor dedicated women in our Parish on April 10th with Mass intentions and a reception

Spiritual Enrichment:

  • Book Club: Join in monthly discussion with women of CCW based on short, accessible, spiritual reading

  • Christmas Tea: A beautiful evening of spiritual fellowship for all parishioners - December 6, 2010

  • CCW Sponsored Mass: Annual Mass celebrating women.
