Parish Library Mission Statement

It is the mission of the St. Petronille Parish Library to support the spiritual and educational mission of St. Petronille Parish by providing Christian print and AV materials for the adult parishioners and staff of the Parish.

The Parish Library is open weekdays from

9am to 4:30pm in the Parish Office.

 

The Parish Library is open during regular Parish Office Hours, Monday – Friday, 9am – 4:30pm Door 3. The library operates as an open library with self-checkout of materials.  Easy instructions for borrowing books and periodicals can be found on the Library bulletin board.  There is a printed catalog of the Library’s holdings in a binder beneath the bulletin board.  On Wednesdays there will usually be a volunteer in the Library to provide assistance from 9:30 to 11:30am.

 

Library Information:

The Parish Library is open during regular Parish Office Hours, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Enter at Door #3, 420 Glenwood Ave. (Summer hours: Monday – Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Friday, 9:00 a.m. – Noon.) Sign in at the reception desk. The library operates as an open library with self-checkout of materials. The Parish Library collection consists of more than 700 books, periodicals, CDs, DVDs and AV materials relating to Religion: Bibles and Bible study, Christian Theology and Apologetics, Christian Ethics, Devotional Literature, Christian Life, Christian Family Life, Christian Social Theology, Church History, and Biographies of noteworthy Christians. Popular Christian authors such as Henri Nouwen, Matthew Kelly, Thomas Keating, John Powell, Scott Hahn and Thomas Merton are well represented in our collection.

Since the Mission of the Parish Library is to the adults of the parish, the library contains no juvenile materials.

The Parish Library catalog is online and searchable via the internet. Access the St. Petronille Parish Library Catalog by clicking here Search Library Catalog. Then click on the link to the St. Petronille Parish Library Catalog. This will take you to a search screen, which allows you to search by Title, Author and/or Subject. Type your search term into the appropriate box and then click on the "search" button. To see an alphabetical list of all titles held by the library, type a "?" in the title field.

Reserving Books: At the top of the Library Search Catalog screen, click on the [Contact Admin] link, which will bring up an email form. You can fill in the information about the books you would like held for you. That email will be sent to the library email (breene@stpetschurch.org). You will be notified when the books are ready to be picked up.
